Tax credits evidence our lack of living wages.

...In Your Pipe & Smoke It: The deputy director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy has admitted publicly that marijuana is less deadly than alcohol, that deaths from marijuana overdoses are “very rare” unlike deaths from prescription drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Makes you wonder what he'd been smoking.

Here's Your Hat... After 12 years and hundreds of billions of dollars, over 2,000 deaths and tens of thousands of wounded American soldiers has failed to defeat the Taliban or al-Qadea, Afghan president Karzai says that “no good” has come from the presence of US forces in the country. He said that "This whole 12 years was one of constant pleading with America to treat the lives of our civilians as lives of people." America's main achievement was the creation “of pockets of wealth and a vast countryside of deprivation and anger."

Privateer: Now that Dell has gone private it will “maximize cash flows in an environment of falling PC sales” and enrich the new owners by firing 15,000 employees.

Storyline: You are the captain of your own fate – that's the American myth. It is what lets society – and more important, the government – put most of the blame on you if you don't end up as CEO of Big&Selfish, Inc. Or if you end up as one of the long term unemployed. It is your fault. It is all your fault. And you should feel guilty about those handouts your family scrapes by on.

Don't Touch That Dial: While RadioShack is reinventing itself, it will be closing about 500 stores. 'Reinventing' in this case means cutting down on inventory and personnel while trying to find a business it can suck at.

Two For One: Senator Elizabeth Warren (Wall Street Nemesis-MA) wants to convert empty post offices into straightforward retail banks to serve the 68 million Americans who don't have enough money to tempt Wall Street and are left to be fleeced by the pay-day loan/check-cashing vermin to the tune of over $2,400 per family. Imagine how much chance she has of wresting $89 billion a year away from those guys.

Dearth And Taxes: Next time you figure up your taxes, don't forget to count that chunk of your income that goes to health insurance companies' profits and that damned student loan – the two primary drivers if America's rising inequality - your inheritance from your tax-hating ancestors.

Weare the country of countries. If you missed it, take a listen.

The real question on Karzai that should have been asked years ago is: how does this US installed Dictator get away with blasting his benefactor? In simple parlance, why doesn't the US just whack this guy? That's always been the pattern. Why not now?

I also think it a tad ungrateful of him to bitch about the US construction, training and aid monies after he and his brother and their friends have stolen so much of it.

Okie - It was the Coke -America The Beautiful commercial. But too many right wingers couldn't stand not hearing it in English - whichwas, after all, good enough for Jesus - so they spaamed the hell out of it.

I just put up a new url for the same thing.
