SAR #15197

We are vastly underestimating the rise of the class system once again, with the historic gulf in economic equality.Jesse.

Signpost: Greece is an example for the New Europe. Welcome to the Twilight Zone.

The Good Old Days: After making a deal with Iran to keep the American Embassy captives until after his Inauguration, Ronald Reagan opened Iran and sold Khomeini weapons. Along comes Obama and negotiates a traitorous agreement that will keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Shame. Good thing Ronnie's boys will do all they can to prevent peace from breaking out.

Strategy & Tactics: “Technology gives practically no advantage to any army during urban combat”. Door to door is as retail as war gets.

Clip and Save: “‘There will not be any binding provision in this agreement [TtiP] that would force local governments to privatize their public services against their will. I can guarantee that.’ according to Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner in charge of Trad, with her fingers crossed.

Take A Note: A new study shows that 95% of women who have had an abortion do not regret that decision.

Just Say'n: President Obama notes that the $80 billion the US spends on keeping people in jail every year is more than the cost of tuition for all the students at public universities nationwide.

In Defense Of Welfare: Never mind that welfare is the right thing to do, Republicans should support it because it subsidizes spending, stimulates the economy, increases profits and keeps the serfs in their place.

Open Wide: There's another push on to get all of us to take statins, particularly if you are over 45. Never mind that the new studies were not large clinical trials. Never mind that at best giving statins to all these people would lower the risk of a heart attack or stroke in the next ten years from 6.9 to 6.3%. None of the hullabaloo changes the basic findings: of those who have not had a stroke or heart attack took statins for five years, the odds are that only 1 heart attack in 154 would be prevented, but 1 in 50 would develop diabetes. If you have had a heart attack previously, 1 in 39 were helped while the same 1 and 50 faced diabetes. Consult your physician and talk about the odds. Remember when eggs were bad and flouride good?

Representative Representative: TN GOP Rep Rick Womick wants to impeach TN governor Haslam for “bowing down” to the Supreme Court’s ruling that state bans on same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.

Thanks for link to the cholesterol study. Big pharma is inundating the public with the message that their drugs will improve patients' lives. In truth, eating a good balanced diet, reducing stress, and getting lots of exercise are the best remedies for almost all of our ills. I tell my patients this routinely. Some heed my advice. Most, sadly, just want a pill and big pharma is all too happy to provide it - for a hefty fee, of course.
