SAR 9201 - 5

Who killed the dreams?

We're hiding out from reality this week. While we're gone, your homework assignments:

Go to The Oil Drum and learn about Peak Oil.

Google "Export Land Model" and write a short report.

Daily reading: Ilargi's intro to The Automatic Earth.

Work on your suggestions as to how we're going to reduce global population to a reasonable number withing 100 years without scaring the horses.

Figure out how you and your family are going to ride out the shortages brought about by the disruptions to ordinary life once the H1N1 pandemic gets going this. Hint: Stock up on peanut butter.

Try not to think about global warming's effect on your grandchildren's life.

See you in a week.

Yup. Then buy a plug-in-electric car.

Google "Export Land Model" and write a short report.

So countries with oil are going to hoard it. This is news?

Daily reading: Ilargi's intro to The Automatic Earth.

Better yet read Scepticus' posts in the TAE comments section.

Stop breeding - like in Europe, the US, Australia, Japan, NZ, and Canada where falling birthrates are helped only by new immigrants. Oh, and eat the horses.

Figure out how you and your family are going to ride out the shortages brought about by the disruptions to ordinary life once the H1N1 pandemic gets going this. Hint: Stock up on peanut butter.

Like teaching my kids to farm, hunt, and forage, make their own solar panels and wind generators, fix their own engines from parts made in our machine shop? Been there, done that.

Try not to think about global warming's effect on your grandchildren's life.

Sure, relax with a martini and pretend it ain't there. Or better yet prepare our kids to prepare our grandkids to make do with wits, geography, social networks, and sheer hutzpah.

Global warming? Sorry, I believe it is a hoax, being perpetrated to make flim-flammers like Gore filthy rich trading carbon credits.

Global Warming now being served in large Kool Aid jugs.

That is my belief, you have yours. I have read many arguments on both sides of issue (is it a hoax, or is it real) with an open mind, and have reached my conclusion. I encourage you to look at the evidence in support of hoaxism (which grows daily) with an equally open mind.

Kindest regards, and all the best.

Great, now Scepticus has come over and infiltrated this blog....

Re: Global Warming....I believe it is real and it is a hoax. The issue is real, it's how greenhouses work for chrissakes, it's not rocket science. The problem is credible action, like most issues. TPTB don't really care if it is real or not, they just see it as another money making opportunity, just like health care, prisons, pretty much any issue. In fact they probably instigate the FUD, not allowing either side to gain too much traction - who the hell knows what these parasites and sociopaths do.....
