The Name's The Thing: Snakelike, Google is going to swallow itself and adopt a new name – Alphabet. How long before Google/AlphaBet insists on a royalty any time you use the alphabet? Intellectual property and all...
Success Story: The UN says that more civilians will be killed in Afghanistan's endless war during 2015 than any previous year, eclipsing 2014's 3,000 dead. It's almost as bad as living in El Salvador.
Roots: Over 19,000 people filled Portland's Moda Center to hear Bernie Sanders. Another 9,000 stood outside the arena and listened to him on loudspeakers.
Ineffective Hypocrisy: Cops in NY are being urged to “shame” the homeless by posting their pictures online. In that few of NY's homeless regularly check facebook, one suspects the postings are to embarrass the mayor, and not the homeless.
Justice? The two 13 year-old Wisconsin girls charged with stabbing a 12 year-old girl will be tried as adults. If you've been around a 13 year old girl lately, you will probably suspect this is more like vengeance than justice.
Itinerary: Australian PM Tony Abbott will not attend the UN global conference on global climate change in December because he thinks global warming is a hoax dreamed up by people who don't like the coal companies that finance him.
Job Description: Ohio judges who perform weddings have been told that they cannot refuse to marry same-sex couples based on their personal, moral or religious beliefs. It's part of the job.
The Daily Donald: “I do whine because I want to win and I’m not happy about not winning and I am a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win”.
Reading, 'Riting and Reloading: A judge in Clio, MI has ruled that while state law prevents people from carrying concealed firearms on school property, people with permits to carry a concealed weapon may openly carry their firearms in schools. Unless the schools teach logic.
Theory Of The Crime: The TX AG argues that female employees of religious non-profits should not be allowed to use contraceptives, no matter who pays for them.
The Shadow Knows: As has been long suspected, the government's terrorist watchlist and the no-fly list mainly contain the names of those the government thinks might commit a crime in the future. Or have pissed off someone in government.
A Bridge Too Few: The head of Iowa's Transportation Department admits that the state's transportation system is simply going to decay away: “Bridges close themselves. Roads deteriorate and go away. That’s what happens. Let’s figure out which ones we really want to keep”.

Oh those New York brownshirts - I mean cops! Such cards.
it's obviously an injustice to try those teenage girls as adults - they lack the maturity AND the mental capacity for that
in my opinion, the criminal justice system of courts and prisons is not the most suitable way to deal with this situation
in an ideal world, they would be humanely euthanized
