If only...
"I don't oppose all wars. What I
am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What
I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by ... weekend warriors in
this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our
throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships
borne.
What I am opposed to is the attempt ... to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income...
That's what I'm opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics...
I know that an [attack] ... without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen ... al-Qaeda.
So for those of us who seek a more just and secure world for our children, let us send a clear message to the president."

Thank you for picking this up Charles.
It really is amazing, isn't it.
I suspect that as his support grows ever more thin, Obama will regret being so willing to throw his base 'under the bus' so often.
But he may not learn in time.
I'm STILL wondering. . . who does Obama considers his "base"? That little detail aside, it is humorous watching all the armchair warriors in the Republican party that have to oppose Obama's postion - one that they would support wholeheartedly if a Republican were in the White House. Well, and all the silly Democrats who have to support this bit of insanity because a Dem in the White House. So why are we rattling sabres again??
i dont recognize president obama anymore
i dont mean, i dont "recognize" him as president...sure i do...hes the prez
but what i mean is, "recognize" as in seeing somebody i know...like they were,... before...
obama has changed... morphed...
how did this happen? ? ...
what does the nsa have on him
or
somebody must be twisting his arm...
or
has the intoxication of the presidency distorted his vision
hmmmm
power tends to corrupt
