SAR #16221

Everyone else is also a 'me'.
Protectionism: 78 percent of Americans say that saving 1 US job is worth sacrificing 1,000 jobs of foreigners. Maybe that's because the median income for full-time male workers is actually lower in inflation-adjusted dollars than it was 42 years ago. At the bottom, real wages are comparable to their level 60 years ago. That's why the people reject the milk and honey arguments of politicians and economists for corporate enriching global trade agreements.
Why? Some clueless Swedish Christians plan to use drones to drop thousands of pill-box sized tiny Bibles into ISIS-controlled Iraq.
Noted: 80% of the yield curve for German bonds is now negative. The Bank of England has lowered its rate to 0.25% and begun buying corporate bonds under a QE program. In total, 18 European countries have negative rates on their 2 year paper. In the US, the economy is “resistant” to further QE.
Motto:The cloud never forgets.”
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs: The July jobs report included some serious adjustment to brush away the 1.03 million jobs “lost” when teachers got off work for the summer. The reported increase, 255,000 jobs, was slightly more than the 205,000 jobs needed every month just to keep even with our population growth, and the actual - unadjusted – job increase was only 85,000. The labor force participation rate remains at a puny 62.8%. Remember the BLS claims you are employed if you work – even for no pay – for 15 hours a week.
Judge & Jury: Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who has urged the police, vigilante groups and people on the block to kill drug dealers, has admitted “I don't care about human rights.” while publishing the names 158 government officials, cops, judges and politicians allegedly linked to the drug trade. Sic 'em.
Question:Has everyone forgotten that the Vietnam and Iraq wars were unnecessary, stupid and destructive” and that our longest war, the debacle in Afghanistan, was lost long ago?
The March Of Civilization: Russian lawmakers and religious leaders want to decriminalize spousal battery because “If he beats you, it means he loves you” and in Turkey the Constitutional Court has annulled the law against sex abuse of children under the age of 15.
Covering The Flank: A Quinnipiac poll of US soldiers revealed that 78% would pick “other” over Trump or Clinton and nearly all of that 78% chose “military coup” from a list of alternatives. But not to worry; the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs says that given all the budget and the troop cuts, “do you really believe we could take over our own government even if we wanted to?”
Let 'em Suffer: Marco Rubio says that pregnant women infected with the Zika virus must not be allowed to terminate their pregnancies because he and his wife will adopt all of the microcephlic little darlings...

Duffleblog is a satirical website.

The destruction of our civilization proceeds apace [and satire is widely recognized as holding a mirror up to society!]

Due process got thrown out the window when they started using bazooka's as flyswatters. Worse, we are neck deep in 'stupid', as exemplified by driver's behavior on any US roadway. [Can't speak for anywhere else...yet]

Happy Monday everyone!

I loved that report about 1000 foreign jobs for 1 american job! If anything ever displayed the grand american exception character, as well as their numeric illiteracy, it is that. The nation couldn't care less if 500 women and children were killed in a bombing raid in the 'dusky middle east', but let 12 sailors be held at gunpoint for bad navigation and it's time to warm up the B-52 squadrons.
