US jets intercepted Syrian SU-24s that
were threatening US Special Forces troops who were on the ground in
Syria helping the Kurds trying to overthrow the Syrian government.

have been bombing civilians rallying for the 'rebel-led'
government.

Since July, in the Philippines, the cops have killed 712 suspected
drug dealers and vigilante groups (assuming there's a difference)

Morning in America, which went global shortly afterwards is marked by the 'significant decline in due process' worldwide. As we creep towards fascism individual rights are stripped with impunity because when push comes to shove we're playing by 'gun rules' where the ones with the guns make the rules.
Combine this with the privatization of formerly public/taxpayer supported facilities and the world has become a very dangerous place [again.]
Maybe time to admit that winning is not on the agenda in many of the covert conflicts, such as the skirmish involving the Kurds at the moment. 100 troops aren't there to win anything, they are there to stoke chaos. Create the mess, then dictate the terms during the cleanup (or force someone else to incur the cost). Probably learned it from the IMF.
